Aero-Metric Anchorage
Division Manager Receives
ASPRS Fellow Award

Reno, Nevada, May 2006

Follett receives award

- We have a celebrity in our midst! Since it's inception, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) has honored individuals for exceptional contributions to the photogrammetric profession and their community. The Fellow Award has only been awarded by ASPRS to two individuals from the State of Alaska, Enzo Becia and Bill Mendenhall, both very well known people who have made significant contributions in their field. Aero-Metric is happy to announce that the 2006 winner of this national award is Anthony Follett, Aero-Metric's Anchorage Division Manager. He received his award at a gala event in his honor at the Reno ASPRS National Convention in May.

The designation of Fellow is conferred on active Society members who have performed exceptional service in advancing the science and use of the mapping sciences. It is awarded for professional excellence and for service to the Society. Nominees must have made outstanding contributions in a recognized Society specialization whether in practice, research, development, administration, or education in the mapping sciences. Candidates are nominated by other active members, recommended to the Fellows Committee, and elected by the ASPRS Board of Directors through a lengthy and rigorous nomination and review process.

Follett is Chief Operating Officer of Aero-Metric, Inc.'s Anchorage regional office with responsibility for Alaska operations. He has over 34 years of experience in photogrammetry, over 30 of which have been with Aero-Metric. His background includes technical experience in aerial photography, photo laboratory, aerotriangulation, cartography, digital mapping, GIS, and digital orthophotos in addition to his administration background. As an active member of the community Follett has served on many local and national boards including currently the Export Council of Alaska and the Geomatics and School of Engineering Advisory Committees at University of Alaska Anchorage. Aero-Metric is proud to have such a distinguished award bestowed upon our director. Congratulations Tony!
